The Carnegie Science Center makes a great field trip for families with children of all ages. The museum, located in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood, is full of exciting, hands-on activities that will delight both the youngest and oldest patrons.

IMAX films, shown in Pittsburgh’s only IMAX theatre, make for the perfect beginning, middle, or end of the day. A full snack bar is available to make the experience even more enjoyable. There is also a planetarium that has various shows throughout the day. Throughout the day, demonstrations show how science is important to everyday life. Cooking demonstrations end with participants enjoying a tasty snack. The Science Center is also home to a variety of fish, a collection of model trains, and a full size submarine.
